Once every century update.

Haha, nah, exaggeration yet again, but Live Journal tells me I haven't posted in 23 weeks. That is ridiculous. And what else proves I had lived in the age of the dinosaurs.... the layout customizer I've been using for this blog is OUTDATED. Live Journal doesn't even support it anymore. Holey moley, where did the time go?! So you'll notice my current layout is just plain jane. I will get 'round to making a decent design in what, another 23 weeks? Haha I kid.

I got my website redone, at least. Boy did that need updating. I cannot believe I allowed the mini images for my portfolio. I'm always learning, aren't I?

I realized the blogging world (hahaha, meaning my circle of friends) has slowed down. Everyone seems to not update anymore. Or is it just me? It's probably just me. I'll go ahead and do a summary of what you've missed in the next couple paragraphs.

I'm still working at the human resources company, and I enjoy it a lot of times, and I don't enjoy it a lot of times. I sit all day and I am noticing the pounds. :p And the work is repetitive... I'm not sure how I haven't gone insane yet. I always forget that I have the shortest attention span. Maybe the job is helping me improve? I don't know. On the other hand... I absolutely adore my coworkers. They are all wonderful in their own ways. How can you not want to work hard when you see everyone pitching in (or are they? Hahaha! Of course they are ;)). And of course, being part of the Social Committee gives me a chance to do something else. It is so much fun. I'm glad I applied for the position.

I'm also still working with Garage Entertainment, but there have been rocky points. My boss and I had an argument, but we're fine now (at least I hope so). Looking back, I think it was insane for me to take on an album project in the midst of essays weighing in a whopping 50% of my final mark. We have had disagreements and I think we were both stressed out. His personal life was stressing him out, and my work life was stressing me out. I have basically two jobs, I'm going into my final semester for the diploma, and everywhere I have to be at is at least forty minutes away from home. Oh dear.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy for the amount of work I do, and they don't think I look the least bit harassed. But let me tell you, I'm slowly dying on the inside (wait, that's a Featherz Edge song. Hahahaha!). Come January, I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm still not even sure what I want to choose for my area of concentration. That's what happens when you have too many frickin' interests. Somebody save me.

Blessings.

It would be stupid to deny that it has been AGES. Wow. Look at where the time went. I came back with a new layout, I'm pretty sure everyone was getting quite sick of the astronaut. Haha! Even my own website is still in astronaut mode (not that I mind, I still love it).

Last Saturday, Charles and I went Downtown Vancouver (East Side) to support a charity group called "Food On the Corner", which feeds the homeless people in that part of the city. We were there just in time for Charles' boss to pray. His boss, Rick, organizes the charities and it's amazing to see and feel sincere generosity. I was there to hand out food to the homeless people who were in line. By golly, the "charity food" was really good considering they were all donated; the meals consisted of soup, two sandwiches (one peanut-butter and one ham), a loaf of bread, bananas, water, coffee, and a couple of pastries. I was irked to see some women cutting lines and stuffing food in their bags. I honestly felt taken advantage of, haha. It did get quite nasty when some of the bums started swearing at each other. But surprisingly, a lot of them were polite; they did say "thank you" and "good morning".

What amazes me most is that Charles and I actually went Downtown to feed BUMS. Holy shit are we good people. Hahaha! It still feels like a dream. I have done some charity work in the Philippines but "Food Around the Corner" was something else. I guess it felt bigger, in a way, and I was old enough to appreciate the feelings that came along with helping others.

I'm excited to get the semester over with! I start my new job on the 28th and I do hope I don't screw up! Haha! I'm now broke from the corporate-attire-shopping, but it was definitely worth it! It pays to feel good and look good at work.

For Garrick Yao

I can't say that I have lots of memories with Garrick, but the few I have with him are to be treasured. With love. I wrote a poem for him, and that's all I can do with me being here away from everyone, unable to be with my friends at such a sad time.

The poem talks about how I don't want to part with him through painful words of loss. I don't want Garrick's place in this world lost merely by his death. He lives as long as he is in our hearts.

Today's hours won't
have their chance to
move in circles,
because today, we will all
stop and sit
to remember you.

What he have come to
know you for, love you for,
won't have its place on a
ship bound for black waters,
bound for an
island with no name.

Instead, we will place our
memories on a
plane that moves
and lifts us,
and there you will be
coloured by
everything that looks up.

Still heartbroken.

I'm so behind the times right now. I've failed to document around three months of my uneventful life. HOW SAD. HAHA. No, my life has been too eventful that I haven't been able to blog. Ok lame excuse, I'm sorry.

But here we go! Everything I'm happy about: I finally received a revised copy of the published poetry anthology (with my name in the table of contents, oh yeaaah); I've been attending concerts between work and school; I have someone who actually cares about me; I got perfect scores on my computer business systems exams (two in a row). NEEDLESS TO SAY, LIFE'S BEEN A BLAST. It always has been... just got better. I now know how to budget my time, I now know what it means to actually study, I STILL KNOW SHOPPING IS FANTASTIC AND I STILL KNOW SCHOOL'S NO FUN WITHOUT PARTYING. ;)

Question: What's missing in this picture though? Guess. It's not too hard to figure out.

Answer: I'm not in the Philippines with the rest of my wonderful family and all my amazing friends. :( Sometimes I think I've gotten over the heartbreak of leaving everyone behind. Whenever I start thinking like that, I always prove myself wrong. I'm serious when I say I miss everyone. I'm so sorry I haven't been online much. Because of the heavy workload, I'm often forced to sacrifice time to get online to chat with friends or to reply to e-mails. Your e-mails all make me sooo happy; makes me know I'm not forgotten.

And yes, the subject of this post relates to me and my love for the Philippines. :)

Wonderful swear words.

I know, I know, I've once again neglected my journal, you don't need to rub it in. :D But I have a new layout! Yay! Changes are subtle, the last one I had was just plain boring. And I don't want that, nuh-uh.

I don't mean to swear a lot but I just noticed that recently, I just couldn't stop myself from saying "shit" or "fuck" or "tangina". It's really bad considering my parents have brought me up to avoid saying those words, (especially during grade school, because CSR was a school run by nuns so you get the picture). I for one know all the cussing doesn't sound good. My mouth is going to get a lot fouler if I don't stop soon (hahaha ewww I DON'T have bad breath, it's just, gah you get it). I'm not at all worried, I know I can just stop just as quickly as I had started.

But I'm not posting to talk about my excessive swearing. I'm here to talk about favorite swear words! (This post is in no way encouraging you all to get used to word profanities, but admit that when you feel mad or giddy or whatever, you HAVE to have that word to release some of that energy eh?!) I personally like "douche bag", although I don't say it out loud nor do I even use it in public. It's just absolutely silly. But the word that gets me out of frustration is "shit". Can't have enough of shit. HAHAHA. It's the word that automatically comes to mind when I'm in any form of dilemma. Ok I'm exaggerating, LJ really is the excuse for unwanted behavior. :D

I've been asked in school: "How do you say 'double fuck' in Tagalog?" And to the Filipinos who know... is it doble kantot? HAHAHA! *Slaps self* That'll be all from me. Talk to me about your favorite swear words! I want funny ones, too. :)

P.S. You wanna see some deer I painted? HAHAHA! They're in watercolor and watercolor's sooo hard to manipulate, but I thought the deer were so cute. :x

The semester is over and I can now take a breather! A huge breather! Hyuck. :D Sorry once again everyone for disappearing so suddenly. :( Didn't mean to. :( And I think I'm getting sick of this layout. There's something pretentious about it, I don't know. Maybe I'll change it soon. ;)

Yesterday, I decided to submit resumes so that I could have a part-time job while taking summer classes (well doi, that's why it's part-time). :D I want cash. HAHA. Who doesn't?! I paid a trip to the nearest mall (ahhh, infested with senior citizens) and spotted a very cute-looking restaurant. :D The owner came out from the back, shook my hand, and told me she'd call. Then I thought it would be nice to check out a coffee shop as well. I was asked about availability and then same thing, they told me they'd call. Two resumes in a day is enough for me, I thought. :p I got home and after about an hour, the PHONE WAS RINGING. I was called for an INTERVIEW. Interview in 30 MINUTES. *NERVOUS WRECK* *LAUGHS* It was a call from the coffee place and it really was a good thing mom was home to drive me there. Needless to say, the interview went well! It was FUN. :)) Though we started talking about my schedule and they told me it would've been better if I were available for the morning hours. And I wasn't. :( Too bad. They said they'd try to work around my schedule and the worst that could happen is that they'd be getting me when they extend hours. Not bad for a first interview. ;) Tell me about your first jobs! I want the four one one. :D If you haven't had jobs yet, talk to me about what you'd be interested in. Gah, just, TALK to me.

Oooh I just have to talk about something stupid I did for our final exam in art history. I was on a roll when I came across the question, "Who developed Diaphanous drapery?". I was STUMPED. I remember our professor talking about it but I didn't bother taking down notes (which is why I always get into these annoying dilemmas). You know what I wrote in? I FUCKING WROTE "DIAPHANOS". HAHAHA. After the exam I asked Sandra and she told me it was Phidias. FUCK. You know that feeling when you'd rather have answered everything knowing you got 'em all right but in the end finding out you made mistakes, than not knowing one thing and assured that you already have a mistake? That last sentence needs work but what the hell. I'm just embarrassed about the answer, I can just imagine our professor shaking her head, knowing I guessed. :p

Haha, the last time I posted was a long, long time ago. Doesn't that remind you of Madonna? When she sang American Pie? :D Anyway, my apologies to everyone for neglecting my journal. [info]coldvic pointed out that I've been doing nothing here, and he scared me into updating. :D Hope you all like the astronaut theme. I really like how this layout turned out... it's very simple. I even got 'round to changing my user icon and the crap on my info page. :) I've been posting entries on my site but I think I want to get into posting here again, this site's been lonely. :(

So how's everyone been? I want you all to tell me what you've been up to. Or rather, I should go check out your journals eh? :D Isn't it awesome that spring is finally coming around?! (It's really spring time already but it's still cold, hahaha). The weather here has been really awful. Constant pouring of rain. But I think in a few days' time, everything will be perfect, with the sun out and all. :)

I'm broke but very happy!

Shopping is totally fun. In the past month I'd managed to buy nine blouses, three pairs of jeans, two long skirts, and two jackets. INSANE. :D Clothes galore. I wasn't kidding when I said I was a shoppaholic. Speaking of clothes, I'm surprised why I never got 'round to buying that half-jacket thing everyone's so crazy about nowadays. I've been told they're called "boleros". I saw those in Canada but I figured I'd never wear them because it'd either be too cold for me or too hot for me, depending on the weather of course. Those jackets are just new excuses for me to hide the giants that are my arms. Might as well buy the full-length jackets, I'll stay warm during the winter season.

Yes, winter. I'll be starting school in Canada during the winter. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! Triple fuck. It's so insane that I don't get to drive because I don't have my license there yet (and I'm scared as hell to take the driving test, dang it, here in the Philippines I got my license just by parking the damn car backwards). I'll be confident to take the test once I memorize that book on driving. Maybe I'm just too paranoid but who cares anyway. (I'll kill you if you say "anyways"... If you watch Myx, you'd know VJ Geoff says that a lot and it irritates me :D). This means I'll have to commute. I have fun commuting there, though, I get to ride buses, and no jeepneys to leave me standing in the middle of the street and looking like a fucktard. Oh yeah, I resent jeepneys, well not the jeepneys, the DRIVERS. Wish I was a multi-billionaire so I could get rid of all the jeepneys here in the Philippines and replace them with nice coasters that charge two pesos a ride. Wow, I'm hallucinating again. But I love this country so much I'd do something major for the people as soon as I'm so rich that I get to burn bills.

Slowly I'm feeling the pressure of having to go back to Canada. I'm really excited about finally going back to school, but I'm not at all excited that I don't get to see my dad, relatives and friends anymore. *SOBS*

On a happier note (it's the LA note. It's a happy note, isn't it? HAHAHA corny!) IE CLUB won EWOC AGAIN! I was so happy to be screaming and jumping and getting myself sick. :D I sure hoped I'd be there for all the events but oh my goodness, I really am so happy for everything I've been part of. I have a fever right now but I think I'm used to that already. :D I need rest.

Pictures right here! Look for the shortest girl in the brown jacket, that'd be me, haha! )

Harry Potter day!

I just saw myself on Wazzup Wazzup a while ago on TV with my sister. I swear, I LOOKED SO PATHETIC HAHA! But it was great that they got my name right. STELLA! Hahaha. I gave the thumbs-up sign to look like a dork. :) So to all my friends, congratulations, you're in cahoots with the dorkiest person on earth. :D It was a bad hair day for me even, but what the hell, I was there for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!!! Yes, we were cornered for questioning because they wanted to ask us what we thought about the movie. :) We were at Robinson's at around 10:15 for the 11:00 show (which was the first at the mall), and it was startling to see that I was already 20th in line. And after the movie, GAH! A CAMERA AND A PRETTY HOST! This is the second time this has happened to me, the first one was when I got to watch the Rooster concert. And in both interviews, I looked like an asshole. Only difference is, I wasn't sweaty in the Harry Potter interview. :D

The movie was fantastic, the effects were as awesome as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban's. But the third one's still my favorite. :) It took me just a really short time to get used to the music because I sort of got the hang of John Williams' style. And I am very much in love with Viktor Krum right now. :D He's HOT. HOT HOT HOT. Ralph Fiennes was "bloody amazing!" If Frauey's oldie crush is Richard Gere, MINE'S RALPH FIENNES. I LOVED HIM IMMEDIATELY after seeing Schindler's List. "Oh yes Ralph, I'll date you, marry you even, I PROMISE!" HAHAHA. I won't talk about the movie anymore, no one wants a spoiler. :)

Yesterday I got to relive the moments spent at the University of the Philippines with the most awesome people imaginable. They just don't know how HAPPY they ALL make me! It was really tiring for me to get a hold of everyone so it's not surprising that right now, I have a slight fever, HAHAHA! Welcome to the Philippines, Stella. My immune system is very weak, and the pollution here just makes matters worse. But 'twas all worth it, I wanted to see them real bad. I even owe some of them a night out. ;) On the plus side, I made new friends! :) (Hi [info]mae_illa, it was great to finally meet you!) :)

Nothing at all has changed in UP. Same great college atmosphere, same huge cracks in buildings, same dirty toilets, same different people (ehhh?). Yeah, I like how there are mixed cultures at my former university. Oh and not forgetting the never-ending rallies. :D You're given a taste of the real world every single day.

So many people think Harry Potter is so gay but I'm sorry, I'm really into it, I really have a huge crush on Daniel Radcliffe. :D Ladies, back me up here! HAHA! But he is sooo adorable. *swoons* I really should watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire tomorrow. :( WAHHHH. :(

Have you all seen Lindsay Lohan's new video? I'm sorry to say that it reeked. It was really bad. It was a desperate attempt to showcase Lindsay's "emotional" side. After only two videos, she now has a new album already. Like I said, new albums mean excuses for new images. Blah.

I'm now in the Philippines, and having a blast! The flight going here was smooth. Smooth take-off, smooth landing. The trip would've been an A+ if not for the nasty smells of crap and used napkins, dropping by to say hello to my nose every now and then. Sandra and I couldn't sleep because of those horrendous smells. I nearly snapped even, I cussed out loud and I had a suspicion the person seated in front of me was doing the farting. Only a suspicion, though. Can't prove it. And no, thank you for thinking I may have done the farting, but really, I know it wasn't me. :D (It wasn't me. That's a Shaggy song, right? Riiight.)

When we got to the Philippine airport, everything was done fast for us but we waited for around an hour just waiting for our luggage to show up. Damn it, it didn't even help that there was a kid in glasses standing next to me, talking on his cellphone in an annoying high-pitched voice and shouting the words "there's ours!" every now and then. I would've strangled him, but I'm too nice to do that. :D Was glad that after an hour I was able to see dad, it felt great to get in the car to be around some of the things I missed most about the Philippines, and the words "Happy Birthday" rang in my ears like a special lullaby for me.

I was upset about missing my chance to see my UP friends last Friday, but I won't need to fret any longer for I'll be seeing them tomorrow. Oh happy day! :) And yesterday definitely made up for that missed chance. :) Let me share the wonderful story. [info]paradosso and [info]slayer_13 told me and [info]overdrive_ to meet them in Makati at 8 in the morning. I was wondering WHY ON EARTH we had to meet that early, I mean, all the malls were closed at the time. And it suddenly hit me that they were taking us somewhere special, because they told us to bring extra shirts. :D

And so we were in Makati at 8 and I found out they were going to take us to Tagaytay for lunch, and then Enchanted Kingdom afterwards! I was thrilled. They planned EVERYTHING for us! :) Sometimes I wonder how I come to have such awesome friends. :D I felt truly appreciated after seeing all the things my friends have been doing for me. I swear I'm going to do something like that for them, too. :) I don't have to tell you that we had a great time. All the smiles in this entry show the happiness. :)

Birthday greetings go to [info]j1o1e1y3, she's one of the truly fun people to hang out with. :) She's already nineteen like me, too! With that said, I'd like to thank all the people who've greeted me, you're all blessings to me. :)

Just last night I had a damn allergic reaction towards prawns. PRAWNS for crying out loud! I didn't know I was allergic to those! Marlins, prawns, what next?! Though I can assure myself I'll never get allergic to chocolate. I don't think my tastebuds will ever retaliate when they're in contact with sweet stuff. Sweet. :D Ok back to the allergic reaction... I got red and itchy all over. Imagine mosquito bites all over my face. Gawd, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about that horrible, horrible evening. It was a good thing mom was able to store some medicine for allergies. She's a lifesaver.

Two days to go! I'll be in the Philippines! I'll be ready to meet the nasty jeepney drivers. The faces of politicians plastered on every facade in the city. The dogs roaming the streets. Oh Philippines, Philippines! *Laughs* I'm not supposed to be showing my country's ugly side. *Coughs* I'll be ready to meet the lovely gigantic malls. Haha! :) The coconut trees. Erm, my fellow citizens! Yay! :)

Aye, it's been a while. Sorry everyone for being so dead online! Belated Happy Halloween, haha! I've started getting sick of blogging... I think my nonsense is getting more to me than to anyone else, haha. I'm so lame.

I wanted to share something with you guys that I found really funny (and fucking damn scary, by the way): 'Remember that diagram from Science class, where our primitive ancestors evolved from a quadrupedal to an erect species? The sedentary nature of modern life is gradually generating a new variant, one whose shoulders and head project forward and belly protrudes.'read more )

I don't like imagining the "belly protrudes" part, hahaha, freaky. And if you read the rest of what I typed in, you'll imagine me making a face at the words "dowager's hump". And to think I slouch a lot! Sometimes I'm just too lazy to stand straight. Very pitiful of me no? I don't think I should be slouching anyway, I mean, come on, my boobs don't weigh a ton.

Finished volunteer work at Camp Alexandra yesterday. :) Barbara (she manages volunteers) called in me and [info]overdrive_ to "help her" with something in the dining hall and I was so shocked to walk in to the sound of applause... we were showered with claps of gratitude. They were all cheering for us, hahaha, that was such a moment. I didn't expect Barbara to thank us for working with them. Looks like they really liked us, haha! Much love to the senior citizens. :D HAHA. We're done with volunteer work and I'm starting packing for the Philippines already, I'm very, very excited. :)

Yay, [info]personal_flirt made me do this. Sorry it's been too long! ♥

So, 5 random facts eh? This is difficult.
1. When preparing cereal, I pour in the milk first.
2. I like acting like a total jerk online (haha, if you've been a victim, then there you have it).
3. I pray before I go to sleep (oh yes, I do).
4. I'm always hungry.
5. I like the smell of airconditioning.

HAHA. :) Oh gee willy, that was so random, how amazing of me!

Just a few hours ago, I watched the news (FLABBERGASTED ARE YE?!) and I got all jumpy when I saw news about the Philippines. It was just a fast moving sentence that told of GMA stating that the Philippine's economy expanded 5% despite everything she's been facing (including the fact that she's been asked to step down from office). I got curious and so I did my research: ha! You can tell I'm leading a very boring life.

[info]overdrive_ and I are even thrilled that we get to see TV Patrol every once in a while. :S

Haha. Mom rented the DVD of "The Wedding Date"... she should've asked me first before renting it. It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen (nearly fell asleep in the movie house). But I think "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" will remain on top of my "crappy movies" list for a long, long time.

Ok so I decided to finally update. Thanks [info]overdrive_ for making me feel guilty about not updating. I've been eating so much and I'm so scared thinking what is to become of me if I continued at the rate I'm going. Just yesterday, I had four slices of chocolate cake (topped with whipped cream), and I had this superb ice cream on a stick (*snickers* is that what you call it?) with caramel filling. *Drools*. Good thing I'm hyper most of the time. Haha. So I think I'm in no danger of reaching the size of a baby whale when I go back to the Philippines.

I love talking nonsense, don't you?

As of now, I'm wishing I'm able to capture all the simple, happy moments of life, in poetry (pictures of course are wonderful but there's just something special about spelling beauty). Yesterday, my sister and I walked in the rain, acting like total goofballs. Oh yes, I'm going to be sick, say, tomorrow?

I've written more poems. If you're into the "I'm in love" scenario, you may enjoy my recent posts. Echodyne.

Hey [info]monster. Much love for the stalk. ♥
